About the Los Angeles Caregiver Resource Center

The Los Angeles Caregiver Resource Center is part of a statewide system established by the California Department of Mental Health (DMH) under The Comprehensive Act for Families and Caregiver of Brain-Impaired Adults (Chapter 1658, California Statues of 1984, as amended).  This system consists of 11 nonprofit CRCs, their respective Boards of Directors and Advisory Committees, and the Statewide Resource Consultant (SRC), all dedicated to the assistance and support of caregivers and their families.

Statewide Caregiver Resource Centers

California was the first state in the nation to address the impact of chronic brain disorders on families. Each Caregiver Resource Center offers a full complement of family services designed to assist caregivers. Multi-lingual staff is available at some CRC’s to serve diverse caregiver populations. Services are free or low cost.
