About Alzheimer's Disease

The National Institute on Aging operates an Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral Center with on-line information, downloadable pamphlets, and videos to explain the disease. Information is available in English and in Spanish. You can watch a video "Inside the Brain: Unraveling the Mystery of Alzheimer's Disease" and order free publications.

The Alzheimer's Association offers resources for individuals and families, for example:

• "Inside the Brain: An Interactive Tour" is a set of slides that explains how Alzheimer's affects the brain
  
• "Alzheimer's Facts and Figures" is a downloadable brochure that gives the latest data about how many people are affected and health care costs   

For Individuals with Memory Problems and Family Members

 The local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association has extensive on-line informational resources and offers many educational programs and support groups for individuals and family.

 The Los Angeles Caregiver Resource Center on the USC campus offers information and referral to caregivers of adults with acquired brain injury, including dementia.
